Can you help me find a way to prevent a user from creating a JIRA ticket without a Label or Component section (cannot be blank)?

Hello @Apurva Manjusha Kumar ,

Certainly, you can enforce this requirement in JIRA. To ensure that the field is filled in before an issue is created, you may:

1. Make the Component Field Mandatory

  1. Navigate to Jira settings.
  2. Proceed to 'Issues' -> 'Fields' -> 'Field configurations'.
  3. Select the field configuration pertinent to your project.
  4. Find the required field.
  5. In the 'Actions' column, select 'Required'.

2. Use Workflow Validators

  1. Access the workflow associated with the issue type in question.
  2. Select the 'Create' transition and then 'Validators'.
  3. Opt for the 'Field Required Validator'.
  4. Look for 'Components'. Optionally, you can specify an error message that will display if the requirement is not met.
  5. Save and then publish the updated workflow.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions.
