Is there a way to set the order of stories in an epic?

Often when we are creating stories under an epic, there is a dependency order and/or an order of which we would like to incrementally release features under an epic.

We have tried pre-pending the ticket summary/title with a numeric value. However, it still causes an issue in Confluence or epic reports.

Additionally the when using the jira issue filter in confluence you are unable to set a sort order of the result set. This can accomplished if you use a jira filter, but if you use epic, then you cannot. I do not want to have to set up jira filters for each epic.

It causes a bit of a tracking nightmare for the product owners and project managers.
