Is there a way to view all issues for a project with the the sub tasks nested under the parent tasks? I would like to see a simple summary view of all tasks on one page in an organized way.
Are there any other ways to control the viewing options are there along these lines?
For your purposes, I think you can try to use GreenHopper's Agile board - create a Scrum board, set up a filter and columns that cover all parent issues regardless of their state, and switch to Work mode, which displays issues with sub-tasks. (You might need to create a Sprint that includes everything.)
The same is probably possible with Kanban mode, not sure if it displays sub-tasks the same way.
You can try also: HTML 5 Links Explorer (Free), Links Hierarchy Structure (Paid)

You can use the plugin "Structure" for this. But it is not free.

Thanks. Is this available for the on demand online version or Jira? If not, anyother suggestions?

Structure is not available for OnDemand, sorry. You can vote for including Structure with OnDemand instances.
