Is there a field for stating the reason for the impediment

Hello,

You can add your own custom field in Jira.

You must be a Jira administrator to do it.

If you are on Jira cloud and you have a next-gen project, then go to project settings -> issue types and add a custom field there. You must be the Project administrator
