Hi, I am trying to see if I can create a higher issue type (e.g. Initiative) in the free Jira cloud so that this can be displayed in the Roadmap rather than the Epics?
I would like to have the Initiative as a higher level issue. The Epic is then the next level down.
I tried adding and linking based on the help on this link (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-dependencies-in-jira-for-advanced-roadmaps/). However, I can't do step 2, which is applying the configuration to ADvanced Roadmaps.
Could you help please?
THanks,
Charl
Hi @Charlu Ricafuente , issues that are in the higher level then epics are only available natively in Jira if you’re on the Premium Jira plan.
There are some apps that allow custom hierarchies available on the Atlassian Marketplace if you would like to stay on Standard Jira plan.
great - thanks! Very helpful.

Welcome to the community !!
You can use issue links to create your own hierarchy.
We have created an app to visualize the hierarchy and track the progress at each hierarchy level,
Agile Tools - Epic Tree, Links Tree and Time in Status
Key features of Links Hierarchy:
You get multiple other features as below in the same app
