When I am going to upload attachments in jira server , i need to know if the files are malware or not .
Thanks for any help,
Hi,
I understand that you are looking for some means to scan attachments in Jira. Jira does not do this natively. However there are solutions to this in Marketplace. One such solution could be to use the plugin Attachment Checker for Jira.
There also might be other solutions in Marketplace. Alternatively, you could let the attachments be uploaded into Jira, and then let some other antivirus product scan the attachment directory where Jira stores these files.
For Jira Server, these files are stored in the $JIRAHOME/data/attachments/ directory. I'm confident that most antivirus products can be configured to scan specific directories and automatically quarantine suspicious files if desired.
I hope this helps.
Andy
Thanks a lot for you help. Attachment Checker for Jira is the available solution But this plugin need some of Antivirus products to be performed. I want to ask if Kaspersky is compatible with this plugin?

Hi,
I'm not sure of the answer here. It looks like that vendor has tested with a few anti-virus products, which is documented over in Additional steps for anti-virus scanning, but that list does not explicitly include Kapersky. I suspect it would work just fine here, but if you are concerned about it, I would suggest reaching out to the vendor of that plugin to ask. They have a support portal over in https://akeles.jira.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/1/create/8

Andy

My brother and I have recently launched attachmentAV for Jira, which scans attachments for viruses, worms, and trojans. attachmentAV detects malware in real-time and mitigates the risk.
