Hi
I am trying to create sub priorities in jira ,is it possible?
It means there are priorities Highest, High, Medium, Low, Lowest in jira for that can we create P1,P2,P3,P4... so on for priority Highest and for the remaining as well.
Thanks
Harish N
Hi @Venkata Subbarao Harish Nimasakavi It is not possible have sub category for the priority value as they are unique per priority scheme, for your requirement you need use the custom fields having these sub category values and based on the automation, script you can further related what value you will need based on the parent priority field value.
The problem with this solution is that you then can't inline edit the sub-priority from the "Filter" view in Jira Software nor the "Queue" view in Jira Service Management (because you can't do inline editing on custom fields) - which kind of defeats the purpose.
We want to be able to sort within a given priority, *while* looking at the list - not open each ticket just to change how it will appear on the list
