Is there any way to make a global Issue in Jira?

Vikas Kewalramani April 4, 2022

Hello Folks,

I am looking for a way to make an Issue of XYZ project a global issue, meaning it could be used for multiple projects in my instance, for example, Suppose there is certain task called 'after sales documentation' that would remain same for every project and will be non billable, so I want to know if I can make this issue be usable for multiple projects and user should be able to log time in Tempo TS as well, and time should be logged for the latest Project and not for the project that actual issue belongs to!!

Need help asap!!!

There is no way to do this - issues live in projects, and you can't define an issue as belonging to more than one project.  (Imagine what a mess all the configuration would be, given that it all is done at the project level)

I've tackled something similar to this myself where I needed certain issues to exist in multiple projects. Or sometimes in the same project across multiple boards.

I set this up by creating a custom field (Multi-Select) for the values that are set against this field on each task. Then on the filter for each board, I just make sure to include the issues with the values from that custom field.

Hi ,

Just Create one Project and Give Permission to All the Users in the JIRA then all can access it and log time in Tempo as well.
