Is there any way to remove mandate for 'Resolution' ?

I need to have Resolution field for every task.

but while editing the task description or something, it is asking to set the resolution. This is something i don't to set till my resolve a task.

Is there any way to remove mandate constraint for resolution field ?

You can't. The resolution field should ONLY be put on the transition screen of the transition where you want to set it. DO NOT put it on any other screen.

You need to set (and clear) a resolution whatever you do.

If you don't want to ask the users for it, remove it from the transition screen you have found it on, BUT, remember to add a post-function to set it to a value, otherwise your reporting won't work.

As Joe says, you really need to remove it from create and edit screens.
