Is there any ways to add new custom field to the description fields section in next gen project?

I am trying to add custom fields into the description fields section in next gen project

I can't seem to be able to drag anything into the section.

Currently you cannot add any custom fields to that section, but there is a change coming soon, check out the comment in the following thread discussing this feature in more detail but particularly focusing on the comment added by One of our Jira Cloud Project Managers, Nathan, back in march:

Hi guys,

We are starting a body of work that will allow you to add multiline text fields (will be called the paragraph field) and the environment field to the main content body of your issue view. We need to modify the issue type screen in project settings first, but I wanted to let you know it is coming.

I know you said you wanted to place it above the description Matan Levin,  but I just want to call out that you will only be able to add these custom fields below the description upon release.

This is not Ready to go yet but its coming down the pipeline very soon, keep an eye on the following Feature request to get updates on the release for this particular feature:

Are there any plans to update functionality of the description fields?

Not being able to have things like deadlines and priority at-a-glance on issues is seriously limiting to productivity
