Is there now no method of obtaining marketplace add-ons for Jira Server?

Have been looking this past month for a database field add-on for our Jira instance.

Noticed that now that:

"As we continue to move towards a cloud future together, new server app sales and installs are no longer available for customers. You can update app version via Atlassian Marketplace until the end of support for server on Feb 15, 2024. Learn more"

Does this really leave us with no method of obtaining a new add-on for our Jira install or is there an alternative method we could use?

Yes, that is correct, since February, you can not buy new licences for apps, because all support is going away in less than a year.

Whilst Atlassian is going "cloud first" as you say, there is still the data-center option, which is not going away any time soon.  If you move to DC, you'll be able to get almost all of the server apps (server apps can all be installed on DC, but some have not been tested on it and have hence not got the DC-approved badge)
