Issue Key in Comment does not form a link

Why does leaving an issue key in a comment no longer convert to a link that shows the ticket summary and status? 

Did this get turned off somewhere?

Hi @Celina Kincaid 

I found this related topic Issues no longer link from comments 

The Atlassian Support team replied the following:

"Indeed, in the new issue view, this feature slightly changed, you need to paste the complete URL to render the issue or select link in the comment editor and type the issue key"

Note: I was able to get the JIRA link to populate after clicking the space bar or enter
