Issue Security Level

Neil Shah October 25, 2018

Hi

Am i correct in my understanding that the purpose of a issue security level is to hide issues from certain users.

I have a group of external users who only need to be able to see there issues assigned to them. They should not be able to see anything else.

In the security level i have set Current Asignee Group 1( IAll internal users) group 2 (All internal users) etc

There are a number of boards in that project in order for the external group not see it would i need to change the project share of each board?

If it's a general rule, that those external users can see their issues (assigned to them) only, you can configure your permission scheme for this project and give Browse projects permission to Current assignee. Of course you have to remember to give Assignable User permission for those external users and any additional permissions if you want them to make any actions on those issues.

Security level is useful for individual issues and you have to remember to set it on the issue. For me it's not scalable, so I would go with configuration of your Permission Scheme.

If issue security prevents a user from seeing an issue it doesn't matter if they have access to the project (boards are just a special way to view the project) they can't see the issue.
