Issue Status within Project View

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
When in a project, looking at the issue list, I would like to be able to see issue status (in the area in red), is this possible somehow?
I have a few users who have asked for this. I have tried to show them issues search/filtering there, but they are after this information in this view. Which I can understand as a project is what comes up from a full Jira search.
