Issue export (all fields) does not contain work log start dates for tasks / sub-tasks

The work log fields exported in the CSV file (all fields) provide the commentary and amount of time entered but rather than the date when work was done, contains the time stamp for when the work log was entered.

This is causing time reporting errors where users update their logs periodically through the week.

Hence work all appears on one day rather than when it actually happened.

I understand this has been a reported issue since 2017. Will this be resolved?

@Jamie Probert - Again You are correct the widget open for Log work we cannot make changes in that its default field.

I was thinking create another screen for work started and put that new custom field Date Started on that screen. OR You can also put that new custom field on existing screen but it will store only single value which indicate the very start working date.

OR go with third party plugin.

Yes, we have identified that data field and string syntax.

The issue is that in the string below, the time shown is the time at which the entry was made, not the date when work was started (you enter the amount of time and the date of the work).

@Jamie Probert - Yes You are correct It does not export the Date Started date. Its default behavior. we can not fix through the configuration

Workaround-

1. You can create the new Date Time custom field and use as Date Started field while logging work on the screen

2. You can user third party plugin like tempo timesheet or timesheet tracker there you can able to export Date started field as well as get reporting feature along with other advance functionality

I don't think (1) is a workaround as the user opens the time tracking widget which opens  a mandatory field for the date and a commentary field to complete.

We'd basically need a combo field which isn't an available custom field type - ie. hours/date/comment, otherwise the hours entered and the date don't get connected and we still have the same problem.

It's a shame that the Time Tracking widget can't just pass the work date through instead of the update timestamp as I think that this is likely to mean we will need to evaluate an alternative following the trial period which had otherwise gone well (we're having to combine multiple time sources including JIRA).
