Is it possible to create a custom field in jira to add in a project screen which on clicking would show all the issues in a particular project?

Other than installing an Add on,is there any other way.Its because i cant do this for a field.We have a set of custom fields but are unable to find a proper field which would give the number of issues as a list in the given project in the EPIC issue type screen
