We have an issue that is in an invalid state, and cannot be moved.
I've tried to move into a different project, and into a different task type.
The problem seems to be that the workflow association checker is detecting that the issue is in an invalid state for the workflow it is currently associated with (true) and that is causing it to refuse to allow the move to happen.
So, if I can't move the issue into an issue-type that allows the current state, because the current state is invalid for the current issue-type, what do I do?
I also cannot delete the task, close it, or basically do anything at all.
I'm using the cloud version of Jira.
How did the issue end up in an invalid state for the workflow? That sounds like a bug, maybe contact the Atlassian Support team and see if they can fix it in the database.
Can you edit the workflow to add the missing state?
I'm not actually sure how the issue came to be in the invalid state. I suspect it was moved from one issue-type to another. Nothing is showing up in the audit log.
I took your advice and added the state that the issue was in, to the workflow that the issue was in, and then was able to move/modify/close the issue.
I think I'll leave the extra state in there in case this happens again.
Thanks for you help!
