Hello, everyone!
I have issue after downgrading to the Free plan.
When I try to add a new user to a project, Jira requires me to select a role, but role selection is not available on the Free plan. Because of this, I cannot add new users.
Could you please provide information on this issue. Maybe guide on how to reset the project roles and permissions back to the Free defaults so that I can add users normally?
Thank you in advance!
Hello @Vladislav
As documented here, if you previously had a paid plan where you assigned users to roles in projects and used Project Roles to grant permissions in the project, Jira will continue to apply that to the projects that already exist when you downgrade to a Free plan. As you discovered though, once on a Free plan you can no longer assign users to Project Roles and you can no longer modify Permission Schemes.
To eliminate the use of Project Roles you will have to upgrade to a trail of a paid plan (i.e. Standard) so that you have the ability to work with Project Roles and customize Permissions.
After upgrading you can either
With #1 restrictions based on Project roles will continue to be applied to existing projects when you downgrade again.
With #2 all users would have all permissions to the project where you removed users from roles and changed the permission schemes, after you downgraded to the Free plan again.
Hello @Vladislav
Adding users to the project and assigning them roles is not supported by Free plan. The minimum requirement is to have a Standard tier.
