We have added a new employee to our Jira and Confluence projects. We are experiencing the following issues:

  1. The new employee can see themselves on the Jira board, but other team members cannot see them.
  2. I can see the employee's profile, and Jira indicates that they are attached to the project.
  3. When I open an issue, I cannot select the new employee from the list of assignees. However, the employee can assign themselves to an issue. When they do this, the issue disappears from the board.
  4. In the "Team" tab, the "Add Employee" button is not working. A video demonstrating this bug is attached.

@Dmitrii I understand that gaining access to Jira and Confluence can sometimes be a bit challenging. In order to access these platforms, it's important to have pre-approval or submit an access request to IT services. Alternatively, you can also reach out to your project lead to request permission for a new associate. Remember, your project lead has the privilege to grant any level of permission for the corresponding project.

Hi @Dmitrii ,

Welcome to the community !!

3. When I open an issue, I cannot select the new employee from the list of assignees. However, the employee can assign themselves to an issue. When they do this, the issue disappears from the board.

-- Check project permission scheme. i.e. Project settings --> permission. See who has Assign issues and Assignable User permissions.

4. In the "Team" tab, the "Add Employee" button is not working. A video demonstrating this bug is attached.

-- New teams now require an invite or approval to join, meaning people can only join by requesting to join or getting an invite from an existing member. Existing teams will remain open for anyone to join. More details in https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/start-an-atlassian-team/

The tags on the post indicate the Free version is being used. Permissions are not editable in the Free version. This would apply only if they are not using the Free version, or if at some point in the past they were using the Standard/Premium/Enterprise versions.

Hello @Dmitrii

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

1. What do you mean by "see" on the board? Are you talking about the list of user avatars at the top of the board? Is the user assigned to any issues that are currently displayed on the board?

3a. Can any other user select the new employee as the Assignee on an issue?

3b. "When the employee assigns themself to an issue it is removed from the board"
What is the filter used by the board? Get that from the board configuration screen.

4. There is not video attached to your post.
