Issues for an epic are not always displayed on the timeline?

Mathias Mohrs January 31, 2024

Hello everyone,

when I am on an epic and create a user story directly in the epic itself, I can name it etc. and it is also displayed as a task in the epic.

If I now switch to the timeline, however, I cannot expand the epic and do not see the linked user stories.

However, if I hover over the epic in the timeline and then press "+", I can also add user stories. These are then displayed and can be expanded and collapsed on the Epic in the timeline overview. The user stories then also appear in the Epic itself - with those that I have created directly in the Epic.

Why are not all user stories for an epic displayed on the timeline, but only those that were created on the timeline? I want to achieve that even the user stories are displayed on the timeline which were created in the epic itself or via "Create" menu and then linked to the epic.

Can someone help me here?

@Mathias Mohrs , I figured a workaround for this, had the same question

If you go to the user story you want displayed for a particular epic, you'll need to go the user story itself and click on the "add epic" button.
