Issues vanished from the projects

THIS IS EXCEPTIONALLY CRITICAL FOR ME AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU CAN HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WENT WRONG!

1. Installed JIRA 4.4.4 with ORACLE DB

2. Imported the production XML backup using Restore system option.

3. All issues and users were appearing properly.

4. Installed GreenHopper 5.8.6 version.

5. For some reason, I have opted for Reindex option.

6. None of the issue related to any of the project was available. All filters started showing 0 issues.

ONLY A UNOBVIOUS THING WHICH I REMEMBER AND I DID WAS - I killed tomcat6 service through task manager and started the service again

Quick test - you might be fine if you get 0 issues when searching, but can you check a random issue via it's url directly - e.g. https://yourjira/browse/ABC-123 ?

If you can, then it's your index that's broken, and your database is probably fine.

However, whatever has gone wrong, you REALLY need to read the log files and look for errors. I expect a huge stack of them.

Yup. Indexing has caused this. Today morning I restarted the server and everything seems to be working for me!

Well, it's good that it's fixed, but very worrying that it broke in the first place. Check your logs to see what was wrong, otherwise you might find it happens again!
