Issues with Jira Backlog Insights Points Completed vs Velocity Report

I am seeing large discrepancies between the Backlog Insights Completed and Committed points compared to the Velocity Chart's Committed and Completed.

There is not pattern that follows when i look at past sprints sometimes Backlog Insights is overall lower or overall higher.

Context: I am on a company managed project and my board uses a filter to join 2 projects together.

It did occur to me that maybe the joining of the teams was causing issues but I have since realized that is not the case because I do not see any consistency in the numbers. I would expect that if Backlog Insights only accounted for my main project then I would notice those numbers to be consistently lower compared to the Velocity Chart.

We're seeing something similar.

We're using a board with a query for a single project, but we are filtering out certain issue types / assignees.

- The "Last 5 sprints" average seems to be stuck at 42.8 no matter what - it doesn't change between sprints

- The sprints showing are #19, #21, #23, #29, #30, and #41 (current) rather than the latest 5.

And the velocity report for the same board seems much more accurate.
