Issues with editing multi select field

Recently, we have converted single list choice field to mutli select field using behaviour

we are trying to edit the value of the field from view screen only, but when we try to edit the value it opens up the issue pop-up and there only we can add the value

Please help me to understand why cant i edit the field directly from view screen

When you configure a Behaviour on a particular field, it also disables the ability to edit that field from the view screen.

You might have some luck with the answer posted here, but I have not tested the solution to verify that it will work as intended.
