Are emails sent if the sub-tasks are manually created and assigned?

Hi trudy,

We have automation rules those rules are creating subtasks after creation of subtasks it should sent notifications to assignees.

What is your question? What help are you requesting?

Are you asking for help to set up the rule to send the email?

Is it already part of the rule to send the email, but the email is not actually getting sent?

Are you expecting the notification to get handled by the built in Jira Notification functionality, but no email is being sent?

Are you working with issues in a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project?

Hi @Trudy Claspill. I'm going to jump in here because I'm having (I think) the same problem, and have been searching but not finding the answer.

The Assignee of a Sub-task is not receiving a Notification email when she is made Assignee.

This is a Company Managed project, in Jira Cloud.

The Sub-task is being created and assigned in a "Create Issue" post-function by an add-on user (Jira Misc Workflow Extensions).

The parent ticket and the Sub-task are in the same Jira project, but have different workflows. However, both workflows seem to have the necessary post-functions: The parent workflow is firing a Generic Event event that can be processed by the listeners, and the Sub-task workflow is firing a Issue Created event that can be processed by the listeners.

Project settings for Notifications include:

Issue Created
All Watchers
Current Assignee
Reporter

As we know, Jira Notification Helper doesn't work on Sub-tasks: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-33332.

Would much appreciate any advice!

Hello @Denise Prickett

Yours symptom may be the same, but the conditions are not the same. The Original Poster said the Subtask was being created through an Automation Rule.

Since the scenario is different I recommend that you open a new Question for yours.
