JIRA 7.3.7 (Server) - Why EXCEL Export removed?

Upgraded from 6.4.1 to 7.3.7 over the weekend.  Export to EXCEL format removed.  We're adding it back by updating the JIRA config file.  Is this feature going to be dropped from JIRA and only go with CSV export?  Some teams are using the EXCEL export for reporting.

Good question.

But, for now you can enable it again by adding the following:

jira.export.excel.enabled=true

To:

JIRA_HOME/jira-config.properties

It has been working great for us. JIRA 7.3.0

PS, you need to restart JIRA.

Hi Tom,

The Excel export was removed in JIRA 7.2.  This happened in response to a Microsoft Security update that stopped Excel files from opening correctly.

Going forward JIRA will implement an exporter which exports JIRA issues in an HTML format.  Please see the official answer from Jakub in JRASERVER-62115.

Cheers,

Branden
