JIRA Attachments not found - Oh, it seems we have lost a page

Hi,

When opening any attachment, we receive an error saying 'Oh, it seems we have lost a page. maybe you should raise an issue?'.

In the log file we see error like:

com.atlassian.jira.issue.attachment.NoAttachmentDataException: Attachment does not exist in filesystem d:\Jira\Data\data\attachments\TEMP\TEMP-123\481984

But when checked on the JIRA server, the attachment file is correctly available in the folder. The URL of the attachment when seen in the attachments section of the JIRA ticket also is correct.

This started suddenly from today. We did not do any migration or touched the JIRA server.

After restarting the JIRA server, the problem was resolved and able to view and download attachments correctly.

Any ideas what could have caused this problem?

JIRA Version 6.1.1

Hi Rahul,

It Is difficult to know what caused this problem only from your description. If this attachment is not corrupted you can remove it from the issue and add it again to remove this error.

If you want to reattach it, please do the following:

  • copy the d:\Jira\Data\data\attachments\TEMP\TEMP-123\481984 file to another folder
  • rename it to its original name (e.g. screenshot.png - you can get the correct name from the issue TEMP-123)
  • remove the attachment from the issue TEMP-123
  • add the attachment again (the renamed file)

Please open a support ticket in case this problem becomes recurrent or if the above steps does not solve it.
