JIRA Board and Validator

Hello,

When i create a validator to make epic name link mandatory for instance.

If this field is then missing, but i change the maturity on a board, the error is not seen and the issue doesnt change maturity, but it is placed in the next column (maturity) looking like it has been change successfully?

Is this a bug?

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

If you add a Validator to a workflow transition, that Validator will be enforced in every instance where that transition is executed, except when the transition is executed by a development tool's Trigger.

If your transition is being completed then one of the following must be true:

1. The Validator is not configured correctly
2. The Validator is not on the transition that applies to your scenario
3. The issue actually meets the condition of the Validator.

1. the workflow Transition and the Validator details
2. the issue that you transitioned, including the elements of it that the Validator targets
3. The before and after Status values of the issue
4. The mapping of Statuses to Columns for your board.
