Interesting problem with the new Issue description editor in JIRA Cloud.

When adding a code block in the issue description, either through Markdown ``` or through the speed-button, the code block isn't saved to display the code and it can't be restored into the code editor. I'm hoping it is because it is still in beta(ish).

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Add a new issue
  2. Enter the description
  3. While in the description, add the ``` markdown (this opens the code element
  4. Select a language from the dropdown (it doesn't matter as it gets ignored anyway)
  5. Write some code
  6. Save it

Expected result: Syntax highlighting and code formatting is saved in description

Actual Result: The text appears with {code}..{/code} Markup surrounding it and is in plain text.

Hello Ethar,

Thank you for your feedback.

Actually, I'm not been able to reproduce it in y Cloud test instance - The Code Block renders just fine.

That been said, please provide us the information below so we can reproduce it and further investigate:

1 - What is the version of your JIRA Cloud?

2 - What browser you are using? Did it reproduce in every single browser?

3 - Make sure your description field is properly configured with the wiki style renderer

To do step 3:

      - Navigate to your project > Project settings > Fields > Actions > Edit Fields

      - Find the field Description and click on Renderers

We will be waiting for your answer.
