Please help - We are running CLOUD version of JIRA (we have attlassian.net in our URL), so that is verified.
We implemented a KANBAN board, then I added the KANBAN Backlog column to the Board. All documentation points to an available EPICs panel. But I can't find it.
THANK YOU in advance for any assistance!!
I do have EPICs in the backlog.
Here is what I'm looking for:
(this screenshot is from the online JIRA Documentation and shows the EPICs Panel Toggle option)
Here is what I see:
(This screenshot is from MY Board Settings - and there is no EPICs Panel toggle option)
Hi @Karyn Horne
I believe you have enabled the Kanban backlog but selecting at least one status under the backlog column. Now you should go back to the backlog page of that Kanban board to view the EPICS panel, displayed to the left side.
Thanks for the reply - but there is no EPICs Panel Option to turn on in Column Management Settings for the board (see my screenshot above).
The picture you posted with EPICS in the red square is what I assume you would get -- if you toggled the EPICs Panel to ON.
What I'm saying is that there is no toggle. So I can't turn on the EPICs Panel.
The picture you posted is what I'm trying to get to.
Here is what I see.
Yes, I turned on the Backlog Column by dragging a status to it in Board Settings>Column Management . So that does show up. See Screenshot below.

Hi @Karyn Horne
You have to drag the status under the 'Kanban backlog' column as below, not just the 'Backlog' column. Then the 'Epics panel' option will be enabled.

Finally -- Yes! it's not the whole Backlog column that moves, it's just the info in the column.
Moving that automatically turned on the Epics Panel toggle.
Inserted screen shot for anyone else who is trying to move the whole column.
Thanks for your help!!!

Hi @Gikku
I'm having the same issue with a scrum board! Essentially, I have two 3 boards in a project, but only one of them is showing the Epics in the Epic column in the backlog. No boards have the Enable Epics Panel section either so I cant figure out what I'm missing.
Below is a screenshot of 2 of the boards, the DEV board displays the Epics in the Epic Column, but the Strategic Projects does not.
When I go to create an epic whilst in the Strategic Projects the below message appears saying the epic was created, but not visible, then when I switch to the DEV board it appears.

@Sam Kounis Have you checked the filter used by the 'Strategic Projects' board includes issues of type 'Epic' ?
The 'Epics Panel' enable option is available only for Kanban board, so you won't see that since you are using Scrum board here.
