JIRA Coor Changes to Description Text undoes format

I have a user that has text in the description field and performs the following steps causes formatting issues

1. Enter Text in the description field 
2. selects all the text to change to color green 
3. select specific text at the end of sentences to be red (This causes formatting issues)

Looking at the screenshot, you will need to close the first {color} then add a new color format as below.

{color:green}add color green{color}, {color:red}add color red{color}
