JIRA Formula

Ann-marie Dillon January 11, 2021

Hi all,

The need to narrow my search in JIRA to include the following categories:

1) Finra Sec

2) Other

3) None

Now, I'm able to create a filter for each one individually using the following:

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "Issue Jurisdiction[Select List (multiple choices)]" = Finra Sec

However, I would like to include all three options to the forumla. I've tried the following ...Finra Sec AND other AND none but it doesn't work.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hello @Ann-marie Dillon

You can try this :

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "Issue Jurisdiction[Select List (multiple choices)]" in (Finra Sec, Other, None)

Hope this helps

Hi Mohamed,

Unfortunately, it didn't work. I got the following:

Error in the JQL Query: Expecting ',' or ')' but got 'Sec'. (line 1, character 133)

Thanks

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "Fieldname" in ("Finra Sec", Other) OR "Fieldname" is empty.

Replace "Fieldname"  with your Jira Field name.

Hi @Ann-marie Dillon

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "issue Jurisdiction" in ("Finra Sec", Other,None)

OR

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "issue Jurisdiction" in ("Finra Sec", Other) OR "issue Jurisdiction" is empty

Please try these two , one will gives you correct output

Hi @KAGITHALA BABU ANVESH

That formula has populated 1,000+ tickets, including tickets other than TRKS. I need to include only TRK issues.

Thanks

HI @Ann-marie Dillon ,

May i know your exact requirement ?

Thanks,

One of the filters for TRK tickets are the following: MiFID, FINRA SEC, None, Other.

I have to create two filters one with MiFID TRK tickets using formula:

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "Issue Jurisdiction[Select List (multiple choices)]" = MiFID

The second filter needs to include all non-mifid TRKS, ie FINRA, None and Other. Now, I can create filters on an individual level, however I need the filter to include all (FINRA, None and Other).

Hence, I am looking for a formulae that shows the followng

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "Issue Jurisdiction[Select List (multiple choices)]" = FINRA + None + Other.

I do not know what sequence I can use to generate all three in one filter.

Hope this makes sense

For only MiFID issues

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "issue Jurisdiction" = MiFID

For other issues non MiFID issues

created >= 2020-10-01 AND created < 2021-01-01 AND project = TRK AND "issue Jurisdiction" != MiFID
