JIRA : How to add a mandatory custom field in a transition screen?

I'm trying to add a custom field called 'Re-open count' on a transition screen while trying to reopen an issue. I have created a custom field and screen and also I have added that screen to that workflow (Using this URL: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/add-a-custom-field-to-transition-screen-718834736.html).

But when I trying to create an issue, unfortunately, it shows the field which I have created for 'Reopen transition screen' as a mandatory field. How do I make it mandatory only while Re-opening an issue

Hello,

It means that you made this field required in the fields configuration (project settings -> fields). Make it optional there.

You need to add the Field Required validator in the reopen transition.
