JIRA ID for teams add on not working

When entering the JIRA ID into teams I get the following message 

Please check if <ID> is valid Jira unique ID and Jira Server for Microsoft Teams app for your organization is installed.

The help article says uninstalling and reinstalling the Teams add on in JIRA should generate a new unique JIRA ID but I've done this 3 times now and the ID is not changing. Any help/advice is appreciated.
