JIRA Insight Inventory Management

JIRA Insight is the CMDB and asset management from Atlassian that i plan to use for my project.

However, i have de-centralized storage where there will be check-in and check-out of items. How can i use JIRA Insight and barcode scanner to scan the item when it is checked in or checked out?

Insight itself does not support a barcode scanner.
