we are using JIRA 7.5.2 when we try reindexing , everytime it takes 6 hours .
We have around
76 projects
0.4 million issues
30 custom fields.
any suggestion how to fix this?

We are facing the same problem but tunning JIRA index threads doesn't help.

increasing thread dumps did reduce our time to 50% @Victor Seger
How many JIRA index threads did you set?

I can't find this jira-config.properties file in $JIRA_HOME or $JIRA_INSTALL. Searching relevant document, and it seems not to exist in JIRA applications installations and home directory so that it should be created. I'm creating a new file for jira-config.properties under home directory, and try to re-index again.
