JIRA Server embedded H2 database Sizing

We plan to use JIRA server from next month for a limited time only and we are thinking if we really need to connect to external database or we can just use the JIRA bundled H2 database.

As per our calculation, we may only have around 1000 tickets plus 500 QAs.

Can you share to me the database sizing? What is the maximum capacity of H2 database?

For those who are still using H2 database, what is the maximum number of tickets registered? Does it include attachments? Please share some ideas or links I can refer to.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Jenny Alvarez ,

You might find the answer here:

However, we strongly do not recommend using the bundled H2 database for production as it is prone to data corruption. It should only be used for evaluating Jira.

Instead, we suggest you use other free databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL :
