JIRA Server security updates & migration process

We are planning to move to server from JIRA cloud. We have questions on this migration.

1) How often does patches and new releases come for server version.

2) Is migration process automatic or manual process?

3) Does all the attachment in JIRA cloud comes backup and restore in server?

4) Total time it would take for migration

1. Irregularly and frequently - Atlassian release updates when they're ready.  They've recently announced a "long term support" policy though, so Server users don't feel like they have to upgrade every 6 weeks.

4. Depends on the size of your system, how you are migrating any add-on data, and what changes you want to make (e.g. user directories etc)
