We were using JIRA Standard software and now we are trying the free version of JIRA Premium where the cost difference is slightly high in case we opt to go for the Premium version permanently.
My question is -
1. Can we keep JIRA standard for few of the employees and JIRA premium for other employees ?
2. If not, then if we go for Premium, will the cost we already paid for JIRA standard be reduced from JIRA Premium?

welcome to the community. Regarding your questions:
1. As far as I understand, the standard vs. premium selection is done on level of site, not user. This means all employees have to be on same plan, they cannot be mixed.
2. Yes, only the increased amount will be billed, so you pay (in the first billing period) only the difference between standard and premium plan.
