I am using Work Management in JIRA. I wanted to set a reminder for a specific task that the assignee should send an e-mail to a client on a specific date.

For Example:

Start Date : 7/28

Due Date : 8/15

In between on 8/10 the assignee should follow up with a client for this, I need to set up a reminder e-mail for the assignee.

Hi Uma - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I would setup a Scheduled trigger automation rule that runs once a day.

You would use JQL that looks like this:

project = ABC and duedate = 5d

Then you add an action for Send Email, and you would send it to the Assignee with information about the issue.

Hi, @Uma Sankaran

Welcome to the Community! I can recommend you to try an SLA plugin for doing this. For example, SLA Time and Report for Jira add-on.

Here you need to create a custom fields "Time stamp" and "Label". After that, select necessary date for the custom field in Jira issue:

Then go the the SLA Manager, add a new SLA Configuration (choosing the Negotiated date SLA goal type), select the project, add start and stop conditions (for example, To Do as a Start and Done as a Stop conditions):

And after that, set up a time goal. A time goal means when the action should be done. In our case, we can have 1 or a few time goals:

Notif 8.10.png1) Notification on August 10. To receive such a notification, choose a field we created in the "Negotiated date field" and select a person who will get this notification.

And to have this green check mark on the right, just click it and choose the label we've created before.

2) Also, you can receive a notification on the due date. Just add one more time goal and choose a "Due date" field, and choose the time when it should be sent.

That's it!

Hope it helps.

And if you need any help with settings or want to undestand better how this add-on works, let me know! SLA Time and Report for Jira add-on is created by my SaaSJet team, so we will be glad to help you with setting it up.

Regards,
Olha
