I'm working on an JIRA business project and would like to have my done issues reopened after 6 months. Initially, I thought I have to built a trigger. But I assume this is only useful when I'm working on a software project with a connection to Git etc.
I usually do this kind of automation with ScriptRunner app's Escalation services. You can trigger a transition on issues returned by a custom JQL (issues closed more than 6 months ago in that case).
