When closing a JIRA issue, we'd like to add a validator to ensure there is a comment in the ticket to encapsulate the work done prior to closing/resolving an issue.
Right now, our team is closing/resolving issues without adding any information as to what they did or what was needed to complete/resolve it.
Would you recommend the transition screen with a comment field and a validator or would you recommend something different?
If there are comments already in the issue, I'd hate to require the user to add yet more comments, but I'm not sure there is another way....
Thoughts?
Hi,
We had a similar question and we decided to create a text custom field "Solution" which is required in the screen when resolving an issue.
An issue can have a lot of comments, but only one is the final solution.
I hope be useful.
