JIRA cloud import issues from another jira cloud instance

Shruti Gupta May 29, 2018

Hi TEam,

i am seeing multiple issues for single jira export file.

1.

Import error

There was an error importing file jira-export.zip: Validation failed. Following issues were reported:

  • Error parsing export file. Your export file is invalid. This may be due to a CDATA bug in older versions of Jira (http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-4980). Exception is org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1988808; columnNumber: 2; The value of attribute "id" associated with an element type "ChangeItem" must not contain the '<' character.
  • There was an error parsing the activeobjects.xml file: Element type "column" must be followed by either attribute specifications, ">" or "/>".

2.

The import wizard is reporting the following problems:

  • Error importing data: com.atlassian.jira.log.clean.PrivacySafeException: Privacy-safe boxing of a com.atlassian.jira.bc.dataimport.identity.UsersAndGroupsImportHelper$WrappingCrowdException

3.

Import error

There was an error importing file jira-export.zip: Validation failed. Following issues were reported:

  • Error parsing export file. Your export file is invalid. This may be due to a CDATA bug in older versions of Jira (http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-4980). Exception is org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 5390637; columnNumber: 340; Attribute name "vote" associated with an element type "Issue" must be followed by the ' = ' character.
  • There was an error parsing the activeobjects.xml file: The element type "integer" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</integer>".

Please help me to get this resolved.

Thanks Mirek

Yes, i saw CTRL M characters in entities.xml file. I applied workaround provided in JRA-4980, Now it says invalid jira-export.zip.
