JIRA issue search status was in particular time

Please some one can help me in below request.

I'm working on pulling some metrics from Jira to try to quantify Work In Progress.  Would it be possible to pull from the JIRA. Jira system some snapshots of the total quantity of Jira Tickets in the state "Coding in Progress" on January 10  2016, April 10 2016, July 10 2016, and October 10 2016?

You can use JQL query like this:

status changed to "Coding in Progress" before 2016-01-10 and (status changed from "Coding in Progress" after 2016-01-10 or status = "Coding in Progress")

This is not exactly you're looking for, but probably give you 95% of results.
