We have set up our JIRA to allow ticket creation and commenting from external (non-user) emails. It is picking up the FROM email address when an issue is logged and displays it in the description field, but it does not pick up the email address if a non-user creates a comment via email.
Is there any way to pick up the email address upon creation of a comment?
Thanks!
Cheryl
Hi Pedro
Thanks - I was hoping there was a way, but I guess we'll have to go with a training approach and just make sure that people who are not users include their names when they comment.
Thanks again!
Hi Cheryl,
That's currently not possible as the mail service is not threating the comments as coming from an unknown user, but adding it as the default reporter.
For that, you would have to add these users to JIRA.
