JIRA server migration

ihanif December 2, 2015

We have JIRA server migration with same database. We are planning to backup the database. My question is if we fail the new server when we migrate we have to up and run the existing server. in this case do we need to restore the database again or can we configure existing server in to database ?

You can check our Upgrading JIRA with Fallback method, that way if something fails during the upgrade, you can easily rollback your JIRA to its previous state. Hope it helps! smile

Depends on what fails. For example, if you are upgrading, that will make changes to DB and you must revert back to the backup DB. If there are no changes to data, it is okay to use the same DB.
