JIRA two dimensional filter - limit axis to a subset of Components

In our JIRA instance we have multiple "teams" tracking work in a shared project. We are using the Components filter to identify two different "properties" of an issue

- a functional area

- an owning "team"

We want to use the Two Dimensional gadget to display number of issue with one access set to Issue Status and the other access set to Components. But for the values for the Components axis we want to group based only on the "team" values we have defined, and another group for "no team value".

All of our "team" values follow the convention of starting with "_Team".

I know an alternate solution is to use a separate field for identifying the team. We are trying to avoid creation of a custom field where JIRA Admins would have to maintain another list.

Any suggestions?
