JMX Metric capture

Sriram Subramanian January 28, 2020

Team,

Planning to install/configure JMX monitoring for Jira and want to check if we can use Jconsole for PROD environment to capture the metrics? As i read through couple of pages where it was mentioned not recommended to use JConsole for PROD environment, Refer "https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/live-monitoring-using-the-jmx-interface-939707304.html

any other alternative metrics console can be used? how about Nagios? Can you advice on this please?

Regards

Sriram S

As you can read in the page you already provided.

JConsole is also recommended for PROD envs. However ensure you are monitoring your Jira remotely as per documentation suggest.

See Monitoring with JConsole > Monitoring Jira remotely section under Live monitoring using the JMX interface page.
