JQL Search - User Names are being replaced unexpectedly by long alphanumeric codes.

Hi,

Steps to reproduce:

In JQL  start typing "Assignee = <valid username>"  

Select name from the drop down list that appears.

The name is lost and replaced by a long alphanumeric code.

I don't recall this ever happening before.

Possibly a related trigger, yesterday, for the first time ever, I revoked access for some old users and deleted some old accounts.

Any idea what is going on here, and are there any more surprises in the pipeline?

PS same behaviour is present for "Creator" as well as "Assignee"

This is a side effect of recent changes to be GDPR compliant. Here is one article but I couldn’t find the exact one I was searching for.
