Hello All,
I have found some great information on the site though I'm still not confident that I have all the factors involved with migrating to a new domain. Here is the setup and the goals we need to accomplish;
(Jira 6.2 running on centos 5.6)
1. domain change - migrate from jira.abc.123.com >jira.xyz.123.com
a. update base url
b. complete steps on web server, update all web server config files to use jira.xyz.123.com
2. SSL - update server to use the new jira.xyz.123.com ssl cert
3. ensure that the old urls/tickets (from jira.abc.123.com) in our ecosystem can be redirected and accessed on the new jira.xyz.123.com site.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need more specific details about our configuration and thank you in advance for your time.
Regards,
Tim Hill

You would need to do these things below:
1. The URL needs to be changed from the server.xml which is located in your installation directory /conf
2. import the certificates into the java keystore jre/lib/security/cacerts
3. Since there are ssl certs, you need to set your apache or nginx to call those certificates
cheers,
jason

Thanks Jason!
Can anyone suggest how we deal with redirecting the links as described in issue#3?
3. ensure that the old urls/tickets (from jira.abc.123.com) in our ecosystem can be redirected and accessed on the new jira.xyz.123.com site.
Our knowledge base contains links to Jira case history and we would like to make sure these aren't broken when we change the base URL.
Thank You,
Tim
