Jira Asset Automate update of object field previous owner if current owner changes
We have a bunch of objects in multiple schemas. What I'm looking for is a way to automatically populate an object field (Previous Owner), if the Current Owner is updated.
- Current Owner = Joe
- Previous Owner = Sam
Gets Updated by Agent/IT:
- Current Owner = Bella
- Previous Owner = Joe
Notes:
- Current Owner = Object Field linked to Employees
- Previous Owner = Free Text as the employee may no longer be with the business. Planning on making these Objects as well going forward
Had a brief look at the global automation rules, and the only options are Lookup Objects or Edit objects.
The only place I can see where you can potentially grab the information about the change is the object (Current Owner) activity post.
